girl in pink with padlock in an interesting location

This picture adorns the doors that front an unused shop unit at Meadowhall shoping centre in Sheffield. They apparently are pictures of local people. What amused me was the location of the padlock!

Just north of the Angel pub when I saw a badger running along the pavement. It was obviously very frightened; it met a man walking the other way who looked most surprised but continued to chat on his mobile. The badger then tried to get through a wrought iron garden gate it got stuck for a moment and then amanged to squeeze through and it ran off.

Deep Clean

The hospital I work at is part of the governments Deep Clean . This has involved the walls and radiators being cleaned by outside contractors. The rest has been done by clinical staff. There has been no additional staffing for this, it's not really part of my job at the moment but I have been trying to help the staff on the ward where my office is situated. They have had to wash down every piece of equipment, every bed, locker, wheelchair..... every piece of clinical kit. Every room has had to be turned out and scrubbed! This is all very well but the hospital is due for some major refurbishments in the next few weeks, including new floors, work on the roof etc. Would it not have made more sense to wait a little.

Mad or what?

Cold or what?

My Peugeot has a temperature gauge, it flashes in a slightly irritating fashion if the outside temperature is 3 degrees, 2 degrees, 1degree,0 degrees, -1 degrees, -2 degrees and -3 degrees. However it stops flashing at -4 degrees and lower! How stupid is that?! i presume the reason for it flashing at you is to alert you to the fact that the road might be icy. So isn't the road even more likely to be icy if its even colder! maybe it never gets that cold in France, so the manufactures never thought it would get that cold!

It was slightly odd, needed a big stretch of the imagination but it was fun too.
